FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 13, 2023
The National APIDA Panhellenic Association (NAPA) is announcing the departure of Pi Alpha Phi Fraternity, Incorporated from our esteemed council, effective immediately. This decision comes after the fraternity’s dissolution of all of its undergraduate chapters.
Pi Alpha Phi Fraternity, Inc. has contributed to the vibrant Greek life on campuses nationwide and served as a chartering organization of NAPA in 2005. Their dedication to fostering academic excellence, Asian American awareness, brotherhood, leadership, and philanthropy has left a lasting mark on our fraternity and sorority community. We extend our gratitude to Pi Alpha Phi Fraternity, Inc. for their contributions over the years.
The decision for Pi Alpha Phi Fraternity, Inc. to leave NAPA was made after discussions and deliberations from their national leadership to cease and desist operations in perpetuity. We respect their choice and support their decision as an organization.
Pi Alpha Phi Fraternity, Inc. and their undergraduate chapters are no longer active organizations on all of their campuses. Their affiliated students will no longer host or participate in fraternity-related events, meetings, or activities. This includes social events, fundraisers, and community service projects.
We wish Pi Alpha Phi Fraternity, Inc. alumni success in their future endeavors. Their legacy within our Greek community will be remembered.
NAPA organizations set the gold standard for Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) fraternities and sororities. In addition to meeting the association’s base standards, NAPA member organizations are exposed to resources and expertise to help them continually improve and be the best they can be. Universities, Greek Councils, and students want the best APIDA fraternities and sororities on campus and they can find them in NAPA.
